Livingston captain Nicky Devlin says talks with Barry Robson were what convinced him to join Aberdeen on a free transfer this summer.
The 29-year-old right-back joined the West Lothian club in 2019 and has made 146 appearances.
“Aberdeen is a big club and the style of play the new manager has adopted suits me,” he said.
“Talking to the manager, it seems like he’s pushing the boat harder than anyone else.”
Devlin is expected to sign a two-year contract at Pittodrie, although he explained that the deal is “not done yet”.
The defender moved to Livingston from Walsall after joining Ayr United.
“Living in Livingston has been amazing for me and my family,” he said. “I can’t speak highly enough of the people who work here.
“I’m at a club where I feel loved and it was very difficult for me to move.”
