Seed number 2 Boston Celtics take the eighth seed Miami Heat in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday (8:30 p.m. ET, TNT).

The Heat and Celtics have a storied history that spans decades, including the two teams meeting in the finals three times in the past four years.

The Heat, however, have had an unprecedented run through the postseason. Under the direction of Jimmy Butlerknown as “Playoff Jimmy,” Miami put together one of the most improbable streaks in NBA history – they made the playoffs through the playoffs, then knocked off the No. 1 seed. Milwaukee Bucks and 5 seeds New York Knicks.

The Celtics have eliminated the number 7 seed Atlanta Hawks and 3 seeds Philadelphia 76ersin their quest for a second straight Finals appearance. Jayson Tatum he put a Game 7 to remember when he scored 51 points on the Sixers to advance.
